A Poem and A Pitch...Event!
River Poems for River People + a Writerly Opportunity
Good
We tried to be good
Still water so deer-like
Praying to be swept under
Or over, turning algal begging
For currents called love
Standing waves
Held in place by
Rough consistency
Chaos and constriction
Your hands, everywhere
-BBThis year, my favorite (I’m their Residency Coordinator, but for reals) low-residency-inspired writing program, Pocket MFA is hosting a brand-new pitch event: Pocket Pitch on April 21st.
It’s a 24-hour event where writers submit pitches for their unpublished, unagented completed manuscripts and participating agents and small presses browse and request the ones that catch their eye. All genres and categories are welcome.
Pocket Pitch is open to Pocket writers and alumni, and if you’re reading this through Blake Bell, Lauren T. Davila, or N.J. Simat’s Substack — your spot is also free.
This event is not open to the general public.
Writers can get started here → Pitching Writers
Agents and small presses, we’d be honored to have you too—agents and presses can register directly at Agents & Presses — Pocket Pitch.
Full event site at Pocket Pitch.
